Your face, your data, your call.
Here is what Verdict collects, why it is needed and how you control it. Separate consent applies to face analysis and research participation.
What we collect
- Face photos you take or upload, and the skin scores YouCam's Skin AI computes from them.
- Your Fitzpatrick group (AI-estimated), age range, city and skincare goals.
- Check-in answers: how often you used a product, symptoms, and things that might affect results.
- For brands: your work email, company name, products and studies.
Why: one purpose per consent
- Face-scan analysis (required): to give you your own results and verdicts.
- Research participation (optional, separate): to include your de-identified scores in brand studies you choose to join.
- Photo retention (optional): to show side-by-side comparisons. Turn it off and photos are deleted right after analysis.
Who processes it
- Perfect Corp's YouCam API receives and analyses uploaded photos. Verdict requests task deletion after processing. Upstream deletion can fail; provider retention terms also apply.
- Brands only ever see aggregated, de-identified statistics. Never faces, names or contact details.
Your rights
- Withdraw any optional consent at any time from your profile. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
- Export everything we hold about you as JSON.
- Erase your account, photos, masks, scores and trials from the active application in one step.
- Encrypted infrastructure backups expire on a rolling seven-day schedule. Deleted data may remain in those restricted backups until expiry.
- Disposable demo workspaces expire after 24 hours and are cleared during subsequent demo access. Do not use them for long-term records.
- Verdict is for adults aged 18 and over.
Security
- Photos are never publicly addressable. They're streamed only to their owner through authenticated routes.
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions are random tokens stored as SHA-256 hashes in httpOnly cookies.
- Rate limits on sign-in, sign-up and scanning. Per-user and per-deployment daily caps on AI usage.
